Cylindrical vector beams demultiplexing communication based on a vectorial diffractive optical element

Abstract Cylindrical vector beams with polarization singularities, transmission stability and turbulence resilient, are orthogonally structured light providing new degrees of freedom for multiplexing optical communications. The demultiplexing the CVBs high efficiency low crosstalk is vital importance practical applications. Here, we propose a lens-less CVB sorting approach set dielectric metasurface devices. composed elliptical silicon nanopillars, which capable field steering. By performing mode transformations on both left-handed right-handed components CVBs, cylindrical can be demultiplexed reduced crosstalk. Furthermore, by adjusting phase response vectorial diffractive element into Pancharatnam–Berry (PB) planes, experimentally demonstrate 11 P–B liquid crystal proposed device may benefit CVB-based communications in future.
